1. What Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to run the Services. The exact information depends on which features you use and which accounts you choose to connect.
Information you provide
- Account details. When you sign in, we create an account associated with your gamertag and basic profile information from the gaming account you connect (see Section 4).
- Profile content. Anything you add to your Number Go Up profile, such as social links you choose to display.
- Content you publish. Custom Seas server listings, event details, and similar content you create for other players to see (see Section 7).
- Messages to us. If you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you submit so we can respond.
- AI Assistant prompts. The questions and messages you send to our AI Pirate Assistant (see Section 5).
Information from connected gaming accounts
- Microsoft / Xbox. Your Xbox gamertag, profile, and gamerpic, and — where you grant permission — your Xbox friends list, which we use to help you find and follow crewmates.
- Twitch. Your Twitch username and basic channel information, used to power our Twitch panel and chat bot tools.
- Game progress. Your Sea of Thieves commendation and reputation progress, which we read to display, track, and chart over time. This is the core of the Services.
Information collected automatically
- Log data. Like most websites, our servers automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device characteristics, and the pages you visit. We use this to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Services.
- Analytics. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that do not identify you personally (see Section 6).
We do not collect sensitive personal information, we do not integrate with Google or your email inbox, we do not collect payment or credit card details, and we do not request your device's location.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account and let you sign in.
- Display and track your Sea of Thieves commendation progress and rewards.
- Help you find crewmates and compare progress with friends.
- Power our streamer tools, Twitch panel, and chat bot.
- Run features you choose to use, such as Custom Seas server listings and events.
- Respond to your messages and provide support.
- Operate, secure, debug, and improve the Services.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and violations of our terms.
- Comply with applicable law.
We do not use your information to serve advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.
4. Sign-In & Connected Accounts
Number Go Up does not ask you to create a password. Instead, you sign in by connecting a third-party account:
- Microsoft (Xbox). Signing in with Microsoft lets us read your Xbox gamertag, profile, gamerpic, and — with your permission — your friends list and Sea of Thieves progress.
- Twitch. Connecting Twitch lets us power your Twitch panel and chat bot, which display your progress to your viewers.
We only receive the information these providers share based on the permissions you grant. We do not receive your Microsoft or Twitch password. You can disconnect Twitch at any time from within the app, and you can review or revoke our access to your Microsoft account through your Microsoft account settings. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.
5. AI Pirate Assistant
The Services include an AI Pirate Assistant — an optional chatbot that answers questions about Sea of Thieves and can look up your own game progress when you ask.
- When you send a message, your prompt (and, when relevant, your own game progress data) is sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, to generate a response. The assistant may also perform web searches to answer game questions.
- The assistant is designed to look up information only about the account of the person asking — not other players.
- We do not use your conversations to train generalized AI models.
- Please don't enter sensitive personal information into the assistant. AI responses can be inaccurate, so treat its game advice as a helpful starting point rather than gospel.
7. Content You Publish
Some features let you publish content that other players can see. For example, when you list a Custom Seas server or create an event, the details you provide — and your associated gamertag or profile — are visible to other users so they can find and join you. Your public profile and commendation progress may also be viewable by others.
Please only publish information you're comfortable sharing publicly. You can edit or remove content you've published, though copies may persist temporarily in backups or caches.
8. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize the personal information associated with it, except where we need to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our terms. Residual copies may remain in backups for a limited period before being overwritten.
9. How We Keep Your Information Safe
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You access the Services at your own risk and should keep your connected gaming accounts secure.
10. Your Privacy Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We honor these rights regardless of where you live, where we reasonably can. You can:
- Access or update much of your information directly in your account settings.
- Disconnect a connected account (such as Twitch) at any time, and revoke our access to your Microsoft account through Microsoft's settings.
- Delete your account and associated data by contacting us at mancer@numbergoup.gg.
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at mancer@numbergoup.gg. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
11. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at mancer@numbergoup.gg and we will take steps to delete it.
12. International Users
We operate from the United States, and our service providers may process your information there and in other countries. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions, whose data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
13. Not Affiliated with Rare or Microsoft
Number Go Up is an independent, fan-made companion app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Rare Ltd or Microsoft. Sea of Thieves and related marks are the property of their respective owners. Your use of Sea of Thieves, Xbox, Microsoft, and Twitch services is governed by those companies' own terms and privacy policies.
14. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and we may provide additional notice for material changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed.
